To ensure fair competition and recognize the effort put into every match, we utilize a Weighted Performance Ranking System. Unlike standard systems that only look at who won, our system looks at how you won and who you played.
New or unranked players begin with a baseline of 1,000 points. Players transferring from another league system may have their historical ranking imported, giving them a more accurate starting point from day one.
⏳ Provisional Status — New Players Only
This applies only to players starting at 1,000 points (unranked / no prior history). Your first 5 matches are "Provisional." During this time, your point gains and losses are doubled (×2) to quickly calibrate your rank to your true skill level.
Players with an imported ranking from a previous league system are not subject to provisional status — their existing rating is trusted from the start.
Rankings are calculated based on individual 1v1 encounters, even when played within 2v2 or 3v3 team matches. Points are awarded based on the match format and the set score (dominance).

Points gained or lost are adjusted based on the points difference between the two players. The higher the gap, the more you gain for an unexpected win — and the more you lose for an unexpected loss.

✅ Expected Win
You are ranked higher than your opponent — a win is expected.
⚡ Unexpected Win
You are ranked lower than your opponent — beating them earns a bigger reward.
To keep the league robust, the system accounts for the rank gap between opponents. This prevents high-ranked players from gaining too much by beating beginners and rewards lower-ranked players for challenging the elites.
🏆 The Underdog Bonus
If you defeat a player ranked 100+ points higher than you, your points gained are increased by 50%.
⚠️ The Favourite Tax
If you defeat a player ranked 100+ points lower than you, your points gained are decreased by 50%.
Every Set Counts
In a Best of 5, winning 3-2 earns you fewer points than a 3-0 "sweep." Similarly, the loser of a 3-2 match is penalized less because they showed high competitiveness.
Encourages Participation
The "Loser Penalty" is generally lower than the "Winner Gain." This means the more you play, the more the league's overall talent pool grows.
Team vs. Individual
While you play for your team (2v2 or 3v3), your personal rank is an accurate reflection of your specific performance in your individual matchups.
Q: Do I lose points if my team loses but I win my individual match?
A: No. Your individual ranking is tied strictly to your personal 1v1 performance within the team format.
Q: What happens if I stop playing for a long time?
A: To keep the standings active, players who do not log a match for over 30 days may be subject to a small weekly point decay to ensure the leaderboard reflects active talent.
