💡 How it works:

• Divisions: Matched by name (e.g., "Premier Division")
• Clubs: Matched by name (e.g., "Acme Club")
• Teams: Matched by name + division (e.g., "Acme A" in "Premier Division")
• Players: Matched by email OR name + team
• Fixtures: Newly extracted fixtures are created

Example: Multi-File Import

File 1 (Teams.csv): Import "Premier Division" + 8 teams
→ Creates 1 division, 8 teams

File 2 (Players.csv): Import players for same teams
→ Reuses 8 existing teams, creates 40 players

File 3 (Division2.csv): Import "Division One" + new teams
→ Creates 1 new division, 8 new teams (no duplicates!)

File 4 (Fixtures.pdf): Import fixture schedule
→ Creates 12 new fixtures (reusing existing teams/divisions)

All new data is created and linked in the system, while existing data is reused.

📋 Better Option for Clean CSV Files

If you have a clean CSV with fixtures, use the faster CSV importer:

Go to Dashboard → Divisions
Click on your division
Click "Import from CSV" button
Upload your CSV file

💡 Which Importer to Use?

Smart Importer (this page): Messy data, PDFs, mixed formats, text snippets, unknown structure.
Also use the "Paste & Smart Import" if you have a mix of Players, Teams, Clubs, Divisions, or Fixtures data that AI can parse.
CSV Importer (in Divisions): Clean fixture lists, structured data, faster & more reliable
Manual Entry: Small leagues or when you want full control
